On July 1, 2021 consumption of cannabis products by adults over the age of 21 became legal in the state of Virginia. Understandably, this has peaked interest in those who have never used cannabis and some who haven't used cannabis since their younger years. Additionally, many have had a singular bad experience with perhaps less than quality product and company. All of these factors are understandable, cannabis is, after all, a mind-altering substance.

Here are some tips if you are looking to take the jump and make cannabis use a part of your routine or an occasional pick me up 💚

  • Know Your Smoke... or your edible/oil/soluble 😀

A lot has changed in the science of cannabis grown and extraction just over the past twenty years. You can now educate yourself on the different strains common effects of the product.

At NoVA Hemp we are here to guide you towards a strain, consumption method and chemical makeup that you are comfortable with.

  • Know What to Expect 😀

I for one, can remember expecting cannabis to effect me similarly to alcohol; and being slightly freaked out by the difference in the feeling. Cannabis doesn't work in your system the same way consuming alcohol does, it reacts to chemicals in your brain rather. Maybe start with a brief meditation .

Know Your Company 😀

As previously mentioned, many of us have had less than quality experiences involving cannabis, and that is UNDERSTANDABLE. I would also bet that many of our experiences may have taken place in grimy basements or claustrophobic cars full of teenagers. We are always trying to make our customers experiences with cannabis a comforting, uplifting and clean experience. 😚

Do THC Drinks Get You High? Effects, Potency, and How They Compare to Edibles

THC-infused beverages produce psychoactive effects similar to traditional cannabis, but they metabolize differently in the human body.
